MIRANDA LYONS-COHEN JOINS THE TEAM
Venus has invited Miranda Lyons-Cohen to join the team, so you can expect to see her on the field soon. For those of you who haven't met Miranda, Adam & Amy, please take a moment to introduce yourself and say hello. Welcome!
WEAR GRAY ON SUNDAY MORNING
I heard back from the Sacramento Extreme and they'll be wearing red, so the girls should be at OIS at 9:45 am wearing the GRAY shirt, black shorts and any dark socks. (Just in case, please bring red in the bag.)
CAL CUP HAS AN UPDATED SCHEDULE
I received a new and improved schedule from the Cal Cup Director today and all of our games have changed. Please mark these new times in your calendars:
Friday, 6/29 at 10:40 am, United vs. Madera Red Star, Cherry Island #6
Friday, 6/29 at 4:00 pm, United vs. Santa Rosa United Fire, Cherry Island #6
Saturday, 6/30 at 10:40 am, United vs. SJ Spirits Blue, Cherry Island #7
4th game Saturday 6/30 at either 3:20 pm, 4:40 pm or 6:00 pm
5th possible game Sunday 7/1 at 9:30 am or 12:45 pm
We will definitely play four games in this tournament and will play a fifth on Sunday if the team does well enough in the first four games. If you'd like more information, check out the Cal Cup website http://www.calcup.org/. We'll send directions to the field next week as well.
GSSL FLIGHTING FOR FALL
We received our 2007 GSSL flighting and we'll be playing in the Silver flight. GSSL decided to make just two flights, so there are 7 teams in the Gold flight and 11 teams in the Silver flight. This means that we'll play each team once, and half our games will be away. I won't get a full schedule until later this summer, but we'll play on Saturdays and Sundays from September 8 through November 11. For those interested, the other teams in our flight are:
